Were Beethoven's piano works influential?

Like he did with the Eroica, forge the path for romanticism, did his piano sonatas like the pathetique, moonlight, waldstein, appionata etc. Did they have the same effect in the world of music? Does anyone know any god sources to look at for this as well? Thanks.
