Do you think the boy in striped pj's should be taught to yr 7's?
No it shouldn't. Anne Frank has been used for years to teach about the holocaust to the few ignoramuses whose parents haven't told them. if it was such a valuable resource surely it would have been used before now, its not like the holocaust happened yesterday. just because its become a major motion picture recently doesnt entitle it to become reading material. As films go there are more impressing films such as the pianist which show a muchbroader aspect of the holocaust. Lastly, I don't even think its the best choice of reading material full-stop. In year 7 the material was engaging to teach me the basics of english and try and instill a love of reading and knowledge. The only context that this might work would be in PSHE or RE. But again there are more important issues for a yr7.
