Can i use a 1000w amp with 2 12" 200w subs?

i recieved two 12" jbl subs and two amps from a friend, one is a 760w pioneer with a missing input connector, and the other is a sony xplod 1000w, i was wondering if i can either use the 1000w with them or the 760(would have to get a new connector at radio shack?) will the amp just fry the subs or can it be used somehow?
