Need male opinion here : he didn't call for a week..Texted he will "call soon to catch up"..?

Over New Years I had best 3 days of my life with an amazing man in French Alps. We met 3 months ago briefly on my visit to Paris and he invited me to join him and friends for ski holiday. We had an amazing romance (and fun!!, and made love of course). We never discussed anything serious though, just had a good time.. When saying goodbuy he said maybe he will come to England to visit ( I live in London and he lives in Paris). I am in love with him ( or infatuated?) but he isn't calling me. He just sent two sweet texts saying "I will call you soon to catch up"...but he isn't calling. Do you think he cares at all? Or do you think he is just saying he will call to make me feel better and to "not disingage emotionally" right away. If the guy really liked me, wouldn't he call me by now? I never called or texted him, just responded to his texts saying i had an amazing time and will wait for his call... Am I just being stupid and him - just polite? Guys, what is your opinion?
