Std affecting future relationships?

I contracted an std from a cheating ex bf. i entered into my 1st serious relationship 1 yr later. it was tough telling my bf about this std (), but i did and he was actually willing to cont the relationship which told me he loved me. well that was 1 yr ago. he recently has made comments about children and how this std willa ffect me having children. i am worried that he is thinking maybe he cant be with me any longer b/c it will be a challenge to have children with me and not contract the std. maybe the love is not so strong afterall and i should move on. any folks out there who have experienced something similar i would appreciate ur thoughts
